Environmental equipment exchange in Chongqing: questions for mist system selection

The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society reported on 4 November that its sanitation and environmental machinery branch held its 2026 annual meeting and environmental equipment technology and product exchange in Chongqing from 28 to 30 October.

Application perspective: match controls to the job

For businesses considering mist cooling, dust suppression or humidification, operating controls deserve attention during equipment selection. The following practical suggestions are editorial observations, rather than technical conclusions from the meeting or new industry standards.

Start by defining the problem. Cooling requires consideration of occupied areas and ambient conditions. Humidification requires a target humidity and an understanding of the process. Dust suppression requires identifying dust sources, operating periods and whether the material may contact water. Each application should be assessed separately.

Describe how the system will run. Will it follow a schedule or operate alongside production? Is separate zone control needed? How will staff detect and respond to faults? These questions help assess suitability more directly than simply comparing the number of functions on a control panel.

Prepare site information before requesting a quotation

Useful information includes site dimensions, photographs of the target areas, water and power supply conditions, daily operating hours and restrictions on wet surfaces. For an upgrade, include details of existing pumps, pipes and nozzles so that reusable components can be assessed.

Agree on commissioning and performance checks in advance: which areas will be inspected, under what operating conditions, and who will record and confirm the observations. Configuration and results depend on site assessment; product photographs and model numbers alone cannot establish performance.

Industry exchanges provide opportunities for communication. For individual projects, clearly defined requirements, suitable equipment and ongoing maintenance remain practical priorities.
